What letters can I get?
Letters are at the discretion of the doctor. They will not write anything which they believe to be untrue or are unable to substantiate.
Yes, once your doctor has finished writing your notes you'll see an electronic copy of your letter in your DocTap account.
We are not able to complete your firearm application form as we do not have access to your medical history. Please contact your NHS GP who will have access to your medical history.
Our doctors are able to issue 'unable to travel letters' if they feel it is clinically justified during your appointment. Providing supporting documents can help the doctor make an appropriate judgement e.g. proof of diagnosis, test results, previous prescriptions, or consultant letters.
DocTap are not able to provide medical letters in support of benefit claims, insurance claims or write to local councils. This is because we do not have access to your medical history which would be required in such circumstances. Please contact your NHS GP or Doctify.com for other private GP providers who may be able to complete this.

Our doctors will be happy to provide you a letter provided you are able to bring supporting documentation with you to your appointment e.g. proof of diagnosis, test results, previous prescriptions, or consultant letters.

Your doctor may be able to provide a sick note or medical letter over a video consultation but we recommend booking a clinic appointment for sick notes or medical letter requests, as your doctor may need to perform an in person examination to assess your condition.
In addition to the content of your letter, it will also include your name, gender, date of birth, home address, DocTap contact details and issue date. It will be signed by a GMC-registered doctor and include their GMC number.
Yes, if you need a hard copy, your doctor will print and sign it during the appointment. An electronic copy will also be available in your DocTap portal, typically within an hour.
