If you need a sick note, you can book an appointment with one of our GPs.

They'll be able to assess you and provide a sick note if you need one.

Frequently asked questions

Can my letter/sick note be posted to my home address?

Yes, please contact us at support@doctap.co.uk to confirm your home address.

What is the maximum length of time you can issue a sick note for me?

Typically, a doctor will issue a sick note for no longer than one month, after which a review is required. Following this review, the doctor may extend the sick note for up to a maximum of three months, depending on your clinical needs.

Can I get a sick note or medical letter in a video appointment?

Your doctor may be able to provide a sick note or medical letter over a video consultation but we recommend booking a clinic appointment for sick notes or medical letter requests, as your doctor may need to perform an in person examination to assess your condition.

I've got a sick note from the NHS and I want it renewed, can I do that with you?

We cannot extend a sick note that has been issued by another provider. We can issue you with a new sick note if you book an appointment with one of our GPs.

Can my sick note be backdated or postdated?

Typically, a sick note cannot be backdated. In rare cases a sick note might be backdated if your doctor deems it clinically appropriate. If you would like to enquire about backdating a sick note please contact us on support@doctap.co.uk or 02071833254.

When and how will I get my sick note?

If you have had a clinic appointment your doctor will give you a hard copy of your sick note during your appointment. Whether you have a video or face to face appointment you'll also receive an electronic copy of your sick note that you can access in your DocTap account shortly after your consultation.
