How do I prepare for my test?: Most blood tests only take a few minutes to complete and require no preparation. Occasionally, you may be required to fast or stop medication before a blood test but we will tell you in advance if you need to do this.
My doctor has requested I have some tests done, can I get these done with you?: If a patient requests blood tests recommended by another doctor, we may be able to help. However, the tests will only be carried out if a DocTap doctor deems them to be clinically appropriate. Please note, we do not offer a standalone 'phlebotomy service' (i.e. blood collection without testing). To proceed, the patient must book a GP consultation and pay the standard fee. During the appointment, the doctor will review the patient's condition and decide whether to carry out the requested tests. Any supporting information from the referring doctor can help our GP make this decision.
How much will my tests cost?: Our A-Z test list shows the cost of all blood, urine and stool tests that we offer. In addition to the cost of tests, there is a £20 handling fee and an appointment fee (starting from £10 for a healthcare assistant or £75 for a GP).
