As our Medical Director, Dr. Carol Ndlovu brings a wealth of experience to our team. After completing her medical training at Newcastle University, she earned a diploma from the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and became a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners. Her extensive work across both private GP surgeries and NHS hospitals has given her a special focus on women's health, dermatology, and musculoskeletal medicine.

Dr. Sunny Patel, our Deputy Medical Director, trained at King’s College London and holds additional qualifications in sexual and reproductive health. A member of the Royal College of General Practitioners, he has gained broad experience across many fields, including as a specialty doctor in sexual health and family planning. Dr. Patel has a special interest in men's health, women's health, and mental health.

Dr. Alex Chitra brings over 15 years of general practice experience to our team. After training at the Royal Free Hospital in London, he worked in a variety of hospital settings, gaining valuable experience in women's and children's health before becoming a GP. Frequently asked questions
- How do I prepare for my test?
Most blood tests only take a few minutes to complete and require no preparation. Occasionally, you may be required to fast or stop medication before a blood test but we will tell you in advance if you need to do this.
- What types of scans does DocTap offer?
DocTap offers X-ray, MRI, Ultrasound and ECG. These are carried out by our scanning partners Oryon and Vista.
- My doctor has requested I have some tests done, can I get these done with you?
If a patient requests blood tests recommended by another doctor, we may be able to help. However, the tests will only be carried out if a DocTap doctor deems them to be clinically appropriate. Please note, we do not offer a standalone 'phlebotomy service' (i.e. blood collection without testing). To proceed, the patient must book a GP consultation and pay the standard fee. During the appointment, the doctor will review the patient's condition and decide whether to carry out the requested tests. Any supporting information from the referring doctor can help our GP make this decision.
- How much will my tests cost?
Our A-Z test list shows the cost of all blood, urine and stool tests that we offer. In addition to the cost of tests, there is a £20 handling fee and an appointment fee (starting from £10 for a healthcare assistant or £75 for a GP).
- What is a Healthcare assistant (HCA)?
A healthcare assistant (HCA) is a healthcare professional who is trained to take bloods and gather information for clinical assessments by our doctors. DocTap's HCAs help us to bring you the best possible care whether you are having a health screen or blood test.
- I can't find the test that I need on your website, do you offer it?
Our A-Z test list shows all the tests that we are able to offer at DocTap. Some more specialist tests can only be carried out by specific providers.
- Can you take bloods for my child?
Our laboratory partner TDL operate a Patient Reception at 76 Wimpole Street, London W1G 9RT where they are able to take bloods for children under 16. Your doctor will give you a phlebotomy form during your appointment so you can bring this with you to the patient reception. Our staff are not able to take blood from children under 16 in our clinics.
- Will my insurance cover my tests or scans?
Health insurance plans vary significantly depending on the provider and the level of cover you have. Please always contact your health insurance provider for clarification. If you would like to have tests or scans but want to to check with your insurance provider whether or not these are covered your doctor can provisionally add tests so that you can contact us to confirm them once you have spoken to your insurance provider.
- Can I book a scan without having a GP consultation?
While scans are safe and useful tools for diagnosis, over use of scans can be hazardous. For this reason our doctors need to assess you prior to referring you for a scan.
- Can you do a scan for my child?
Please contact us at support@doctap.co.uk to check whether we can do the scan you think your child may need.
- Can I get an ultrasound 2 week wait scan with DocTap?
Unfortunately we do not do any 2 week wait referrals through DocTap. Please contact your NHS GP if this is something you require.
- I already have some blood test / scan results, can I see doctor so they can explain them to me?
Yes, our doctors would be delighted to discuss test results with patients. Please also bring any other relevant documentation that you have about your condition.
